Washington State Opens Commercial Drone Registration

Paid UAS Operations Funding Will go to Support Drone Proliferation Throughout State Economy

Washington state has released its commercial drone registration system ahead of the April 1st program due date. Those drone operators flying under 14 CFR Part 107 for compensation or hire are now required by law to register their UAVs with the Washington State Department of Transportation, the proceeds of which will go to support their work advancing the uncrewed industry in the region.

NTSB Prelim: Cirrus Design Corp SR22T

There Was A Brief “Stutter” Of The Engine, And The Engine Began To Run Rough

On February 10, 2022, at 2006 central standard time, a Cirrus SR22T, N317KJ, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Lincoln,  Nebraska. The pilot and a passenger were uninjured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot stated that the flight was uneventful, and the airplane was operating [normally] with all gauges indicating proper operating limits. At 10,000 ft mean sea level (msl) and about 60 nautical miles east of Lincoln Airport, Lincoln, Nebraska, there was a brief “stutter” of the engine, and the engine began to run rough.
