Archer Unveils Midnight -- Its Future Production Aircraft

With Its Expected Payload Of Over 1,000 Pounds, Midnight Can Carry Four Passengers Plus A Pilot

Archer Aviation has unveiled its production aircraft, Midnight, a pilot-plus-four-passenger eVTOL aircraft during its Open House event in Palo Alto, CA. Midnight is the evolution of Archer’s demonstrator eVTOL aircraft, Maker, which has validated its twelve-tilt-six configuration and key enabling technologies. Midnight is designed to be safe, sustainable, quiet and, with its expected payload of over 1,000 pounds, can carry four passengers plus a pilot. Midnight is optimized for back-to-back short distance trips of around 20-miles, with a charging time of approximately 10 minutes in-between.

A Dutch court has sentenced three men to life in prison for the murders of 298-people killed in a 17 July 2014 missile attack on a Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777-200ER The aircraft—operating at the time as MH17—was enroute to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) from Amsterdam (AMS) when it was shot down over territory held by pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine. The incident occurred in the early days of a conflict between pro-Russia separatists and Ukrainian forces—the precursor to the prevailing Russo-Ukrainian conflict.

A Surfeit of Questions; A Dearth of Answers

On 03 September 2022, Cory Wayne Patterson—a 29-year-old, long-time employee of Tupelo Aviation, an FBO and flight-school on Mississippi’s Tupelo Regional Airport (TUP)—stole a 1987 King Air C-90A. Once aloft, Patterson contacted emergency services and threatened to crash the airplane into a nearby Walmart store. On 14 November 2022, Mr. Patterson died in a Miami federal prison where he was awaiting psychological evaluation and possibly trial.

NTSB Prelim: Bearhawk Patrol

In The Final Seconds Of The Flight, Data Indicated A 400-Ft Descent In Fewer Than 2 Seconds

On October 29, 2022, about 1452 eastern daylight time, an experimental, amateur-built Bearhawk Patrol airplane, N964RS, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Hanover Township, Pennsylvania. The pilot and pilot-rated passenger were fatally injured. The airplane was operated by the pilot as a personal flight conducted under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. Witnesses reported that the pilot and pilot-rated passenger departed Farmers Pride Airport (9N7), Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, earlier in the day.
