Dynon's SkyView HDX is now available for Beechcraft Baron 58 and 58As, offering a cost-effective upgrade and 3-axis autopilot system. The system is capable of flying instrument approaches when combined with a compatible IFR nav device, which altogether packs quite a bit of capability into a flight deck. When added to an existing SkyView HDX, the 3-axis autopilot lists at $11,192 for the hardware, modules, servo harnesses, and brackets. Virtual Reality Flight Simulation Hub First in North America

Loft Dynamics (formerly VRM Switzerland) has opened its first Virtual Reality Flight Simulation Hub at its North American headquarters, located at the Santa Monica Municipal Airport (SMO). Cal Science Center Shuttle Display Now In Launch Position

Shuttle Endeavour Is Now Fully Stacked and Mated

The California Science Center has successfully completed what they call the only authentic space shuttle system display in launch configuration. Endeavour's installation in the future Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, a major expansion of the California Science Center, is the grand finale of the unprecedented Go for Stack process. With Endeavour's detachment from the gigantic, 450-foot crane and metal sling just after midnight, this marks the official completion of the complex, six-month, multi-phase process. The 20-story space shuttle exhibit will be the star attraction of the future Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center.

250th HondaJet Heads For the Skies

HondaJet Global Fleet Has Surpassed 210,000 Flight Hours

Honda Aircraft has delivered the 250th HondaJet since it began customer deliveries in late 2015. The 250th HondaJet recently rolled off the production line and completed the Standard Certificate of Airworthiness (SCoA), and Honda Aircraft Company associates celebrated the milestone with a special event at HondaJet HQ in Greensboro, North Carolina. The HondaJet earned its type certification from the FAA in 2015. To date, the aircraft holds 14 type certifications around the world. Since then, the bird has evolved from the original HondaJet (2015), to the HondaJet Elite (2018), the Elite S (2021), and the latest Elite II (2022).

Airplane Was At A Cruise Altitude Of 6,500 Ft Mean Sea Level When The Pilot Heard A “Loud Bang”

On January 21, 2024, about 1825 eastern standard time, a Cessna 210D, N3857Y, was substantially damaged when it was involved in accident near Paris, Tennessee. Mountain Wave Mountain waves occur when air is being blown over a mountain range or even the ridge of a sharp bluff area. As the air hits the upwind side of the range, it starts to climb, thus creating what is generally a smooth updraft which turns into a turbulent downdraft as the air passes the crest of the ridge.
