Space Florida Sets Spaceport Master Plan Public Workshop, Call For Projects

Plan Is Compiled Every Two-Three Years To Provide Information To The Organization

Space Florida will hold a public workshop Friday to determine projects that will be named in the organization’s Spaceport Master Plan. The plan, compiled every two to three years, provides information to guide Space Florida in its efforts to modernize and expand infrastructure at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport. The workshop will take place on Friday, April 26 at the Cape Canaveral Port Authority Chambers.

Space Shuttle astronauts Curt Brown, Eileen Collins and Bonnie Dunbar, Ph.D., today joined an elite group of American space heroes with their induction into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame during a ceremony at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The three astronauts join the ranks of legendary space pioneers in the Hall of Fame such as Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, Alan Shepard, Jim Lovell, Sally Ride and John Young.

Rockwell Collins' Clay Jones To Retire On July 31

Kelly Ortberg To Be Named CEO

The Chairman and CEO of Rockwell Collins told his board Friday that he plans to retire as CEO effective July 31, after almost 34 years of service. Rockwell Collins President Kelly Ortberg, 52, is expected to succeed Jones as CEO at that time. Jones will remain on the company’s board of directors as non-executive chairman.
