Meteor Caused Damage In Russia, Asteroid Passed Within 17,000 Miles Of Earth Friday

Two objects with the potential to cause substantial damage on Earth left the planet relatively unscathed in close encounters on Friday. In one, a meteor exploded spectacularly over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk, raining down fragments of space rock which, along with shattering glass, reportedly injured several hundred people. The shock wave from the meteor blew out thousands of windows in the city.

AA Mechanics Reach Majority Support For Teamsters At Key Stations

Have Been Gathering Cards Since September 2012

The Teamsters Airline Division and the Teamsters Aviation Mechanics Coalition (TAMC) announced late last week that at many maintenance stations across the country, American Airlines mechanics and related workers have reached a majority of cards signed for Teamster representation. With a majority of cards at the major hubs in hand, the Teamsters Union is nearing majority support throughout the system and is one step closer to filing for an election with the National Mediation Board.

A trio of new senior appointments in the Business Development Team were announced Thursday at XCOR Aerospace, signaling the continued progress and confidence in the Lynx suborbital spacecraft program.
