Will Begin Deliveries Of Mix Of Single, Dual Turbine Helos In 2008

At last week's Heli-Expo 2007 in Orlando, Era Helicopters LLC selected three members of Eurocopter’s single- and twin-engine helicopter family for a 20-aircraft order, which will significantly expand its rotary-wing operations with the offshore oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico and the US air medical market.

Representatives with American Eurocopter tell ANN the Lake Charles, LA-based company purchased eight EC145 intermediate twin turbine helicopters (shown below), eight EC135 light twin turbine aircraft and four AS350B2 single turbine helicopters. Deliveries are to begin next year.

"Eurocopter helicopters have served us well," said Era Helicopters President Neill Osborne. "Era looks forward to the additional capability, efficiency and productivity that these helicopters will give Era in both the offshore and air medical markets."

The Era Helicopters fleet currently includes Eurocopter EC120s, AS350Bs, EC135s and BO105s. Additionally, the company has four EC225s on order for deliveries in 2008-2009.

"This is a significant sale to a valued Eurocopter customer, and we are committed to Era Helicopters’ continued success in both the off-shore and air medical sectors," said Marc Paganini, President & CEO of American Eurocopter.
