Company Maintained Engines Of The Airplane That Impacted The Flight Safety Building In October, 2014

Flight Safety International has filed a lawsuit against Dallas Airmotive, the company that performed maintenance on the engines of an airplane 10 days prior to its impacting the Flight Safety building in Wichita, KS.

The Beechcraft King Air B-200 piloted by Mark Goldstein lost power just after takeoff and impacted the building on October 30 of last year. The pilot and three people inside the building were fatally injured.

Television station KWCH reports that the lawsuit alleges that Dallas Airmotive was negligent in performing inspections on the engines, and said the engines were airworthy when they were not. It further says that the company was negligent in failing to properly inspect, repair, and maintain the engines and their related components, returning the engines to service saying they were airworthy when they were not.

Flight Safety International is seeking more than $1 million to offset lost revenue due to the damage to its building and simulators.
