Eve Lines Up Partnership with Thales

Brazilian Engineering Programs to Receive Technical Support and Developmental Assistance from Local Thales Facilities

Eve Air Mobility has entered into an agreement with Thales to develop their eVTOL aircraft in Brazil. 

The strategic partnership will involve a series of joint studies through 2022 to examine the technical, economic, and overall feasibility of a fully electric aircraft. Thales will contributes its extensive expertise in avionics, electric, flight controls, nav systems, comms, and ergonomics to the development of Eve's aircraft. 

Eve's parent, Embraer, has once again proven to be the ticket to the big leagues for the AAM company. Thales is a considerably weighty name in more than a couple industries, raking in sales of €16.2 billion across operations in 68 countries. The local Thales Technological Space Center in São José dos Campos, will provide support to Eve and Embraer personnel working on the project.

“This partnership will strengthen Eve’s position as a leading player in the global market and our commitment to delivering an effective and sustainable new mode of urban transportation. Embraer is a leading player in aviation in Brazil and globally, and has partnered with Thales for more than thirty years, and now Eve will leverage this partnership too,” said Andre Stein, CEO of Eve.

“Thales is actively engaged in Urban Air Mobility emergence. We are particularly proud to take a new step in Brazil, joining Eve in a project that can be a game-changer for sustainable urban mobility worldwide,” said Yannick Assouad, Executive-Vice President, Avionics, Thales. “This industry is coming to stay and will bring many advantages to the country, particularly concerning the environment, due to the use of clean energy.”
