Will Direct The Establishment Of Aviation Programs,
Partnerships For The School
Vaughn College has announced the appointment of Ken Kaplan
(pictured) to head its newly created Aviation Outreach
Initiative, designed to enhance learning opportunities through the
acquisition of global and strategic aviation partnerships.
“As managing director, Ken will be responsible for
launching a highly effective and innovative flight training
program, exploring additional distance and hybrid learning
opportunities and embarking on related initiatives of importance to
our students and the College,” said College President Dr,
John Fitzpatrick
A pilot since age 16, Kaplan has been a publisher and trade show
producer, chief executive of three businesses and most recently an
executive with King Schools, a leader in aviation distance
learning. In his new position, he is responsible for developing
international collaborative and teaming relationships; exploring
hybrid distance-learning opportunities; and developing other
aviation and technology opportunities that will result in increased
brand recognition for Vaughn College.
“Ken’s extensive background in the aviation
industry, instrument-rated piloting experience and successful track
record as a chief executive uniquely qualifies him for this new
role that is central to Vaughn’s growth plans,” said
Senior Vice President Dr. Sharon DeViv.
Kaplan, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, said that a
primary goal will be to continue Vaughn’s tradition of
graduating students who make a positive impact in the global
aviation, technology and related industries. “I’m
thrilled to join Vaughn College and to help continue its growth as
a worldwide leader in aviation and technology,” Kaplan said.
“Our mission—to provide the best aviation
learning delivered at the best value for Vaughn
students—demands we utilize the most innovative technology
and learning methods.”
