More FAA Level “D” Simulators For The World’s Largest Fleet

FlightSafety International’s Simulation Systems Division is producing a number of Level “D” full-flight simulators for delivery within the next few months to the company’s learning centers.

At the FlightSafety Simulation Tulsa facility, soon to be delivered are:

  • Gulfstream 200 (the second) for the DFW Center in November
  • Beechcraft King Air 350 (Proline) for the Raytheon Center next January
  • Beechcraft King Air 200 (Proline) to go to the Wichita Center in February, 2004
  • Citation Excel (the sixth) in the spring for the Cessna Center - Wichita
  • Cessna CJ3 – the first – to the Wichita Cessna Center in May
  • Hawker HORIZON – the first – to the Raytheon Center in Wichita in July

All the new FlightSafety simulators provide the superior visual environment of the VITAL-9 system. Surrounding the cockpit with finely detailed, richly textured scenes, the VITAL system excels in its realistic weather presentations. Every permutation of critical weather is convincingly created for superimposition on the chosen environment, from wind-driven snow to tropical lightning. The infinitely variable meteorological conditions are selected with a few finger-taps from the Instructor Operating Station.

Founded in 1951 at the Marine Air Terminal on LaGuardia Airport, New York, FlightSafety International is the nation’s foremost aviation training organization. The company will provide training services this year for over 75,000 aviation professionals – pilots, maintenance technicians, crewmembers and support personnel.
