Cessna Sells Mission-Ready Caravan to Belize

FMS Contract Sees Purchase of Specially Equipped C-208 EX

The Belize Ministry of National Defense & Border Security has purchased one of Textron's specially equipped, multi-mission Grand Caravan EX models through the Foreign Military Sale program.

The sale is a shot in the arm for the multi use turboprop aircraft, offering an affordable, reliable platform for a range of security missions for the service. Unlike purely civilian Caravans, the Belize purchase will be equipped with an Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor, operator mission console, tactical radios and data link capability. Along with the aircraft, Textron Aviation will provide pilot, mission operator and maintenance training, as well as continued support through an in-country field service representative.

“The Grand Caravan EX delivered to the Belize Ministry of National Defense and Border Security will be used as a multi-mission platform for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC), Search and Rescue (SAR), Air Mobility, Light Air Drop and other operations as necessary,” said Bob Gibbs, vice president, Special Mission Sales. “This is the first Caravan EX in the service of the Belize Ministry of National Defense and Border Security.”
