Drone Helps In AZ Mission Person Search

Was The First Mission For The NCSO's UAV

The Navajo County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) is batting 1000 with its new UAV.

On May 27th the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of a missing person in the area of highway 260 and the Claysprings turn off. It was suspected that he walked into the forest area east of that location.
Responding Deputies requested the assistance of NCSO’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to assist in the search, according to a Facebook post.

It took just 45 minutes for Deputies to locate the missing person and get coordinates to his location after the UAV was deployed.

This was the first mission that the UAV was used. The ability to use this tool for search and rescue saves lives and hours of man power.

Sheriff Kelly "KC" Clark commented, “the application of UAV’s will revolutionize law enforcement as the 2 way radio and computer did."
