Big Deal! NetJets Europe To Buy 24 Falcon 7Xs

Largest European Bizjet Order Ever

It's a big deal... for a company known for its big deals. Dassault Aviation on Tuesday unveiled Europe's largest business jet order ever, a $1.1 billion order from the European branch of US-based fractional ownership operation NetJets, part of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway empire.

Reuters reports all 24 orders are for the latest model in the Dassault stable, the tri-engined Falcon 7X.

Representatives with Dassault say NetJets Europe plans to offer the Falcon 7X jets to European customers through its England base, which it describes as the largest operator of business jets in Europe.

The planes... worth anywhere from $40 to $45 million each, depending on options... will be delivered between 2008 and 2014.

With the NetJet order, Dassault can lay claim to 116 orders for the Falcon 7X since the development program was launched at the Paris air show in 2001. Certification for the Falcon 7X is expected in early 2007, with first deliveries starting shortly thereafter.
