Ecuador Orders Three Airbus C295s

First Of The Aircraft Has Been Delivered In Seville

Ecuador has ordered three Airbus C295 medium transport aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space for immediate delivery. The contract also includes a Full In Service Support (FISS) package for the operation and maintenance of the fleet.

The first aircraft was delivered on 6 June at the Airbus Defence and Space plant in Seville and the remaining two will be handed over later this year. They will be used for military and humanitarian missions such as the transport of civilian and military personnel as well as support to populations in remote areas or in emergency situations.

The C295s for the Ecuadorean Air Force join two Airbus C212s and two Airbus CN235s of the Ecuadorean Army, and two CN235s of the Ecuadorean Navy in this Andean country with its difficult and challenging flying conditions. "We are very proud that Ecuador, after a successful experience with our aircraft has placed this repeat order which demonstrates that the complete range of Airbus products can cover the needs of all the military arms of a country”, said Antonio Rodríguez Barberán, Head of Commercial for Military Aircraft.

More than 140 C295s have now been ordered by 19 countries.
