Parker Meggitt Unveils Long-Range Wireless Tire Pressure Gauge

iPress Soon to be Available for Cessna, Beechcraft Aircraft

Parker Meggitt has announced iPress, a long-range, wireless tire pressure monitor for general aviation aircraft using their new WTPS.

Out of the gate, the system will be available for a range of Cessna and Beechcraft products thanks to their Textron manufacture. Meggitt worked alongside the company to ensure integration with the Textron Aviation Service app for smartphones and tablets, allowing owners and operators an easy, no-stress way to track the state of their tires from afar without manual checks. The result is a theoretical increase in tire life, better flight reliability and cost savings throughout an aircraft's service life.

The system retrofits easily, requires no calibration, and allows for simple monitoring through the usual gamut of internet-connected tablets and smartphones. For those weary of taking off their wheel pants manually check, or renters worrying about their aircraft parked at the field, the iPress system could be a handy addition.

Parker Meggitt’s Airframe Systems division President Chris Allen commented on the release, proud of his company's work in meeting OEM demands for their aircraft.

“Maintaining tire inflation pressure in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications is not only essential for safe aircraft operations but also extends tire life and reduces cost.  We are excited to introduce iPRESS to the market as it is truly representative of an engineering breakthrough which leads to a better tomorrow.”
