Company Also Supplies Pro Line 21 Avionics Suite
Cessna has selected Rockwell Collins' new digital cabin
management system (CMS) for the upcoming Citation CJ4 business
jet.
Representatives with Cedar Rapids, IA-based avionics
manufacuturer say the new CMS represents the next generation of
cabin management and entertainment capabilities, while being
optimized for the size and weight concerns of the Light Jet market.
The system will incorporate a range of new and innovative
entertainment features, including high definition video, audio and
an integrated Airshow moving map. The system will be offered as
part of the baseline CJ4 cabin package.
"The Rockwell Collins CMS will provide our CJ4 customers a new
level of convenience and functionality," said Roger Whyte, Cessna
senior vice president, Sales & Marketing. "This system is a
direct result of customer input asking for greater capability
throughout the aircraft."
"This system brings cabin entertainment to a new level for the
Light Jet market," said Tommy Dodson, vice president and general
manager for Rockwell Collins Cabin Systems. "We have had a long
relationship with Cessna and have built a strong level of trust, so
we're pleased to continue that relationship with our new CMS for
the CJ4."
Rockwell Collins is also the supplier for the Pro Line 21
avionics that will be standard equipment for the new CJ4 aircraft,
as it is with the other members of the Citation CJ family of
business aircraft. The CJ4 is scheduled to enter into service in
2010.
