Winner Of Airplane At Auction Will Fly To Oshkosh Courtesy Of Mooney

Mooney is preparing to celebrate the winning bid for Mooney Acclaim N242MR at AirVenture 2014. The first new Mooney airplane produced in five years is nearing completion and available to the highest bidder during the First To Fly Mooney History Museum Auction. Proceeds from the sale of the first Mooney will be used to create the Mooney History Museum in Kerrville, Texas.

Mooney is completing the production flight test on the airplane and will soon be in the process of finalizing the Oshkosh vinyl graphics package for the show.

Mooney will be honoring the winning bid to own this historic airplane by offering the winner free airfare from anywhere in the lower 48 states to AirVenture, Oshkosh on July 27th or 28th along with gate passes, a rental car and hotel accommodations at the Heidel House Resort Spa in Green Lake Wisconsin for the entire week of the show.

On the evening of July 28th the winner will be the guest of honor at a dinner in Appleton, WI, hosted by the Mooney Senior Executives from Kerrville, TX; Chino, CA and Henan Soaring, China.

The next day, July 29th, Mooney will present the new owner of the Acclaim N242MR with the keys to the plane at a press conference and reception in the Mooney booth at AirVenture in front of an international press gathering as well as Mooney supporters, owners and enthusiasts from all over the world.

According to Mooney, the Acclaim N242MR is more powerful than ever before thanks to a combination of aerodynamic refinements. It is the world’s fastest single-engine aircraft in production. Auction details are available on the Mooney website.
