Touch-Screen In Flight Entertainment For A320 Aircraft
DeCrane Aerospace Audio
International (DAAI) announces that Stork Fokker has chosen the
fully-digital AI Select Cabin Management and In-Flight
Entertainment system for the completion of the A320 aircraft at
their facility in Hoogerheide, the Netherlands.
The AI Select system is the true digital audio/video experience,
offering real-time sampling with minimal noise and interference.
Passenger interface is a fully customizable color VIP switch, the
Spectra 35 touch panel. This allows customers to integrate
customized cabin colors, graphics, international icons, and complex
switching functionalities into one easy-to-use touch screen. The AI
Select uncompressed digital video signals provide the ultimate in
entertainment viewing. It is the system of choice due to lower box
count, size, and weight savings, which ultimately translate into
operating cost savings to the customer.
Audio International and Stork-Fokker have successfully teamed up
on several cabin interior projects in the last few years.
“We have had great success in the past integrating the
Audio International systems into the aircraft,” stated Walter
Buné, Manager Procurement AC&C for Fokker Aircraft
Services B.V. “It was logical to complete this aircraft with
the AI Select System.”
In a related development, DAAI says it remains on schedule to
deliver the AI Platinum High Definition Entertainment System in the
first quarter of 2010. This High Definition system provides full
1080p resolution over a high-speed 3G-SDI signal and Ethernet
command and control, presenting the best of both worlds.
DAAI says the system optimizes ease, cost and overall weight of
installations by utilizing traditional video coaxial cable along
with aircraft-standard BNC connections. The AI Platinum Elite
system distributes uncompressed High Definition video signals for
the sharpest, highest contrast video images available in the cabin
environment...with zero latency. The 3G-SDI video signal is
uncompressed, so latency and synchronization issues common with
other systems are non-existent.
The system has provisions for “carry-on”
entertainment as well as DAAI Blu-Ray players and a wide variety of
High Definition Deep Color LCD Monitors…all built in North
Little Rock, Arkansas. Additional features include in-system
programming and built-in system self test, as well as remote
diagnostic analysis for field-service applications.
“We strive to continue as the most innovative CMS/IFE
provider in the industry,” stated General Manager Stan Young.
“The feature-rich AI Platinum System actually presents the
customer the best of both worlds…full 1080p resolution
entertainment with Ethernet Command and Control
Structure.”
