Omni Flight Attendants Join AFA

Vote To Organize Tops 80%

Omni Flight Attendants voted to join the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) by a margin of 83 percent. In a union representation election that concluded Tuesday, the National Mediation Board (NMB) announced that out of 284 votes cast, 237 elected AFA as their collective bargaining representative.

"It is a pleasure to welcome our sisters and brothers at Omni to the world's largest Flight Attendant union, run by and for Flight Attendants. We look forward to the contributions Omni Flight Attendants will bring to our union and stand beside them as they work to advance their careers," said AFA International President Veda Shook (pictured).

Based in Tulsa, OK, Omni Air operates international and domestic passenger charters. In addition, Omni also provides cargo and troop airlift for the U.S. military. "Omni Flight Attendants make great contributions to the success of our carrier and to our country through our work with the U.S. military. We look forward to securing a legally binding contract that recognizes our roles as first responders," said Mya Grap, who has been appointed AFA president at Omni until an election can be held for Omni members to vote for new officers.
