Gifts Transported On Airline’s Fourth A350 XWB In Partnership With Aviation Sans Frontières
The Airbus Foundation has used the delivery of Vietnam Airlines’ fourth A350 XWB to transport a selection of toys, games and books from Toulouse to the Hanoi Heart Hospital in Vietnam.
The gifts come from a collection organised by Aviation Sans Frontières in France and from donations raised through the “Give for Kids” program, an Airbus employee initiative for Toulouse-based Airbus and Airbus Group employees. Vietnam Airlines’ A350 XWB was loaded in Toulouse on 2nd December and arrived in Hanoi on the morning of 3rd December.
The goodwill initiative was organized jointly between the Airbus Foundation and Aviation Sans Frontières. Both have been working together since 2008 and have coordinated many missions since.
“Through the Airbus Foundation, wherever possible we try to use the delivery flights of new aircraft to send donations benefitting deserving causes,” said Fabrice Brégier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Airbus and member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “We hope that the gifts we are sending on Vietnam Airlines’ latest A350 XWB will bring smiles and comfort to the children currently in the Hanoi Heart Hospital.”
“As the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines is willing to support meaningful activities for Vietnamese community,” said Pham Ngoc Minh, Chief Executive Officer of Vietnam Airlines. “Today, the fourth A350 has finished its mission in bringing joy and great encouragement to the children who are being cured in the Hanoi Heart Hospital. In the time to come when receiving new airplanes, Vietnam Airlines hopes to contribute more to the community and the country as well.”
