CA Man Injured Preventing Model Airplane Theft

Suspects Who Tried To Steal RC Aircraft Still At Large

A man in Mountain View, CA was attacked Sunday while flying his model airplane at the Monta Loma Elementary School by two men who attempted to steal his RC aircraft.

The man, who was not identified by Mountain View police, said he had just landed his plane at the school's soccer field when he was approached by the suspects. The San Jose Mercury News reports that one of the suspects reached down to pick up the airplane, and when the owner resisted, he was beaten by the two.

Still, the owner managed to regain control of his airplane, and the suspects fled the scene with a woman.

Police could not provide a detailed description of any of the alleged perpetrators, according to the report.
