Columbia 350 And 400 Certified In Australia

And Aussies Really Like The Air Conditioning!

The Lancair Company says the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), Australia’s aviation governing body, has granted a Type Acceptance Certificate for its Columbia 350 and 400 models.

“Australia is a large, spread out country and the Columbia 350 and 400’s superior speed and range will be a major asset to pilots here,” said Tony Green of Lancair Certified Australasia. “The climate control system will also be greatly appreciated given our warm climate.”

The normally aspirated Columbia 350 cruises at 190 knots while the turbocharged Columbia 400 is the reigning speed king of certified, piston-powered aircraft with a cruise speed of 235 knots. Each aircraft is capable of making trips of well in excess of 1,000 nautical miles without stopping. Columbia 350s and 400s will be available in Australia and New Zealand immediately through Lancair Certified Australasia, the Company’s international sales and service center based at Maroochydore Airport (MCY) on Australia’s Sunshine Coast.

In addition to Australia and the United States of America, The Lancair Company’s certified Columbia 350 and 400 are also available in several additional countries including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
