NASA Celebrates 60th Anniversary At Chicago Air And Water Show

'NASA Village' Full Of Exhibits Will Be Open Through The Entire Weekend

Join NASA at the 2018 Chicago Air and Water Show and help celebrate the agency’s 60th Anniversary.  A “NASA Village” full of exhibits will be open during the free airshow Aug. 17-19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the North Avenue Beach.

Inside the NASA Village, guests can learn all about NASA’s Space Launch System, the most powerful rocket in the world, and the Orion spacecraft that will fly humans farther than any other spacecraft in history.  Visitors will get a virtual reality experience learning about NASA’s planetary missions, become familiar with the International Space Station and what it’s like to live and work in space, and discover the thrilling work NASA is doing in aeronautics.

Guests will have the opportunity to venture through NASA’s Journey to Tomorrow travelling exhibit for a fun-filled interactive experience. The exhibit includes learning stations about NASA missions, engaging activities and a genuine moon rock returned to Earth by the crew of Apollo 17.

For those who’ve always dreamed of working at NASA, stop by to learn about how NASA engages students in underrepresented populations through the Minority University Research Education Project and see what opportunities await you.
