Source: Alderney duty officer Steve Roberts, on a recent incident involving a parrot that got loose on an Aurigny Air Services plane. The chartered airliner was taxiing for takeoff when the parrot -- named Polly, of course -- freed herself and began flying over passengers' heads and nibbling at their shoulders. The plane was delayed ten minutes as crew emptied the cabin, scooped up the grey and white parrot — and put the parrot back in her box.
