Aero-TV At SNF2022: Aerox Supplemental Oxygen Systems

Aerox Dispels Myths On Use Of Supplemental Oxygen: Plug, Set, And Forget It

We caught up with an excited Scott Ashton, President and CEO of Aerox at one of the exhibitor booths at Sun n Fun 2022, and got him talking about Aviation Oxygen systems.  He shared with us that they’ve got a wide range of products, and pointed to the portable oxygen, masks, replacement cannulas, and everything you need to maintain and enjoy your oxygen system.

He added that two of the key things they’re trying to focus attention on this year are trying to dispel myths around using oxygen systems and to show how easy it is to use the Aerox oxygen systems. The first myth is that you don’t need oxygen because you don’t fly above 12,500 feet; this is a paraphrase of the Federal Aviation Regulation 91.211, but in Mr. Ashton’s flying as a flight instructor, he has observed that at altitudes as low as 8000 feet, his spO2 (oxygen saturation) measured with a pulse oximeter is near 90% which is which is really a critical level so we encourage people to use oxygen anytime that they’re above 8000 feet.  Oxygen saturation is the fraction of oxygen-saturated blood-cells relative to total blood-cells. Our bodies typically require and regulates a very specific balance of oxygen in the blood, where the normal blood oxygen saturation levels range from 95–100%.

The second myth is that the oxygen systems are hard to use. Mr. Ashton debunks that by stating that Aerox oxygen systems are designed to be very easy to use and comes complete with all you need to make it work: a cylinder regulator assembly, a cannula for each user, a means to adjust oxygen flow, and measuring with the pulse oximeter. According to Mr. Ashton “its easy to use, plug it in, set it, and really forget about it.” Aerox also has oxygen masks, and filling systems so if you’re interested in filling your system in your hangar, they’ve got what they call ‘FBO kits’ and adapters, so you can fill your system right from your hanger.

Since 1981, Aerox, owned and operated by the Ashton family, has been providing the aviation industry with innovative solutions for its oxygen needs. Aerox is certified to ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D, offers a wide array of TSO oxygen masks and PMA oxygen cylinders in both Kevlar and Steel, in addition to a line of stock/custom systems, components, and serve as an OEM provider for Diamond, Agusta, Piper, and more.
