CAE (has signed a training equipment contract including the sale of five full-flight simulators (FFS) - three Boeing 737MAX, one A320NEO and one ATR72-600 - to support Lion Air's growing training needs. The agreement also includes the provision of CAE's EASA compliant ATPL ground-school training program for the airline's three flight schools located in Indonesia.

The three Boeing 737MAX and the A320NEO simulators are CAE 7000XR Series FFS, and the ATR72-600 simulator is a CAE 7000 Series FFS. All full-flight simulators will be equipped with the latest innovative CAE Tropos 6000XR visual system, offering unprecedented realism. The delivery of the training equipment will begin in February 2017 to the airline's training centers in Jakarta, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur.

CAE's EASA compliant ATPL ground-school training program provides aspiring pilots the highest-quality theoretical knowledge that is needed to continue their training as part of their path to becoming competent Lion Air first-officers and pilots.

"We are delighted to have chosen CAE to support our growing training needs as we continue to expand our business in the region," said Edward Sirait, CEO of Lion Air Group. "With CAE's suite of training solutions, from state-of-the-art full-flight simulators to certified ground-school, we are confident that our crews will be receiving world-class pilot training, offering our guests superior service across our flight network. We are pleased to be teaming up with a global leader and expect our relationship with CAE to grow over the years."
