Miracle Flights Reports 737 Free Flights Performed In October

Families Of Route 91 Shooting Victims Among Those Served

Miracle Flights reports that it provided 737 commercial flights at no cost to families in crisis during the month of October.

The flight count included 68 domestic flights from North Carolina, 66 from Texas, 58 from Tennessee, 34 from California and 32 each from Arizona and Florida, as well as a handful of international flights from the Bahamas, Chile, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Germany, Ecuador and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

October also saw Miracle Flights expand its mission to assist the families of those wounded or killed in the Route 91 shooting on October 1 in the organization's home city of Las Vegas. In the days immediately following the tragedy, Miracle Flights flew family members into Las Vegas to be with their loved ones and has since offered to fly those injured in the attack at no cost to receive ongoing medical treatment.

"Given our location in Las Vegas and our mission to help those with complex medical conditions reach the care they need, Miracle Flights has been uniquely poised to step up during this time of crisis and offer assistance to those impacted by the Route 91 tragedy," said Mark E. Brown, Miracle Flights CEO. "To be part of this incredible network of support in our community has been a great expansion of our mission and a tremendous blessing for Miracle Flights as an organization."

Now in its 32nd year, Miracle Flights has provided more than 112,000 flights to help alleviate the financial burden of travel for those who require treatment from doctors and specialists out of state.

Since 1985, the Las Vegas–based nonprofit has flown children and adults with rare and life-threatening conditions for free to receive specialized medical care and valuable second opinions far from home.
