Also: AEA ADS-B Giveaway, Jack Pelton’s Welcome, Extra’s New Aerobat, OSH19-The Week Ahead

Note From The ANN E-I-C (Guy Who Takes The Blame): By the time that you read this, ANN's staff is either on its way home, at home in a semi-comatose state, or has checked in at a home for wayward Aviators for a little rest and therapy. But, as we do each year after Oshkosh, we'll be repeating the amazing week, in sequence, over the next few days so you can catch up on all you might have missed -- as we rest up and get ready for the continuation of our regular news programming on the 8th of August. This is probably the last time we can get away with taking a post-OSH break, so we're going to enjoy it as much as we can...

The weather in Oshkosh has been beautiful today, but that wasn’t the case over this past weekend. At his annual opening-day news conference at Airventure -- EAA Chairman Jack Pelton gave an update on airplane parking--camping changes, and looked ahead to the rest of the week.

Daher brought their newest airplane--the TBM-940--to airventure for the week. Nicholas Chabbert -- Vice President Of Daher’s airplane business unit presented an update on the new airplane on the first day of Airventure. Continental Aerospace Technologies came to Airventure with a new engine to introduce, along with a number of other announcements. Jim Campbell talked with Continental President And CEO -- Rhett Ross -- about the most recent developments. From new engines -- to new airplanes -- Extra Aircraft has long been a leader in the aerobatic airplane field -- but it’s been a long time since they introduced a new airplane. The deadline to equip airplanes with ADS-B OUT capability is coming up fast. AEA is once again offering Airventure attendees a chance to get a little financial help with the upgrade. Tom Patton talked with AEA Marketing Director Geoff Hill about their annual sweepstakes. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
