FAA Extends Comment Period For Helo Order

Agency to accept comments from public on Restricted Category Aircraft certification order until 12/31

The FAA has granted Helicopter Association International’s request to extend the comment period for the proposed Order that prescribes how to certify restricted category aircraft. The original deadline for submitting comments has been extended from November 30, until December 31, 2004.

On October 8, the FAA published a notice that announced the availability of, and requested comments on the proposed policy for the certification of restricted category aircraft. The proposed policy is in the form of an Order that prescribes how to certify restricted category aircraft. The proposed Order will apply to Aircraft Certification Service personnel, Flight Standards Service personnel, persons designated by the Administrator, and organizations associated with the certification processes required by Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
