Airborne 07.09.21: Able Flight, Flashcard App, B-29 'Pull-A-Plane'

Also: Strong/ASR OSH Specials, Pilatus PC-24 Update, DG Flugzeugbau Acquired, Oshkosh Rides

Able Flight’s “Class of 2021” will be honored at a pilot wings pinning ceremony at EAA AirVenture on Tuesday, July 27th at 10:00 AM at Theater In The Woods.

Six scholarship recipients earned their pilot certificates in the program this year, and all will be on stage to receive their pilot wings. This year’s pilots are T’angelo Magee, Michael Price, Peyton Wolter, David Snypes, Jr. and Sheila Xu. They include a veteran wounded in combat, two veterans who became disabled through accidents, a woman who is deaf, and two new pilots who use wheelchairs due to injuries from accidents. King Schools has released a new aid for those of you studying for your next FAA test. The Kings note that pilots, today, have very high expectations for their written test results, wanting to score a 100% or close to that. The Flashcard App is a new aspect of the KING Study Method designed to achieve that high score. Doc’s Friends and the WSU Tech Foundation will host a Pull a Plane event on Saturday, October 16 at the B-29 Doc Hangar, Education and Visitors Center at Eisenhower National Airport. Rescheduled from 2020, the unique event will feature teams of 25 people racing to pull Doc (a restored B-29 Superfortress, weighing in at nearly 80,000 pounds) 25 feet down the taxiway. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and will run throughout the day. Each team of 25 people will raise a minimum of $2,500 in order to participate. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
