Astronaut Cady Coleman To Visit International Women’s Air And Space Museum

Veteran Of Both ISS And Shuttle Missions

The International Women’s Air & Space Museum, in partnership with NASA Glenn Research Center, will host a special guest appearance from astronaut Catherine “Cady” Coleman on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Cady (pictured) will provide a post-flight mission briefing with a question and answer session. Following the presentation, there will be an informal meet and greet and autograph session.

Cady Coleman was born December 14, 1960 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in 1983 after receiving her bachelor of science in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She earned a doctorate in polymer science and engineering from the University of Massachusetts in 1991. In 1992 she joined NASA. This past May, Coleman returned home after 159 days aboard the International Space Station, as a member of the Expedition 26 and 27 crews. In addition, Cady was a mission specialist on STS-73 and was lead mission specialist on STS-93 for the deployment of the Chandra X-ray Observatory.

Cady Coleman is a former IWASM volunteer and looks forward to joining IWASM staff and supporters at this event in January.

The International Women’s Air & Space Museum is located in the Burke Lakefront Airport terminal building in Cleveland, OH. Museum admission is free and exhibits are open 8:00 am – 7:00 pm daily. (Image provided by NASA)
