Bell Helicopter Wins Two Defense Contracts Totaling $83 Million

To Produce Rotor Blades, Kiowa Warrior Cabins For The DoD

Bell Helicopter has won two Department of Defense (DoD) contracts totaling some $83 million as the end of the government's fiscal year approaches.

According to data posted on the DoD's contract website, Bell won a contract worth a maximum $21,150,000 for rotary wing blades for the U.S. Navy. The contract is a firm-fixed-price, sole-source contract. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of January 2017.

The second, larger contract ... worth $61,056,000 to the company ...  is a firm-fixed-price, no option, non-multi-year contract modification for procurement of 12 new metal scout (OH-58D) helicopter cabins, 12 supplemental parts kits and associated over and above effort demands.

The cabins will be mostly fabricated in Amarillo, TX, with 3 percent of the work being done in Hurst, TX, Funding is from fiscal 2013 other procurement authority accounts.

This contract was a non-competitive acquisition with one bid solicited and one bid received. The cabins and kits are being built for the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal (Aviation), Redstone Arsenal, AL.
