Fashion Editor Injured In Prop Strike

Friend Said She Walked Into A Moving Propeller

There are few things at an airport more dangerous than a moving propeller, and an incident reported over the weekend points out just how dangerous they can be. After a flight in a private airplane to view Christmas lights, 23-year-old Lauren Scruggs was severely injured when she walked into the moving prop of the plane on the airport ramp.

The plane landed at Aero Country Airport (T31) in Texas about 2130 local time. A friend who had accompanied Scruggs on the flight told the Dallas Morning News that she was struck in the upper body. The paper reports she suffered a fractured scull, the amputation of her left hand, severe facial cuts, and other injuries.

Scruggs, who lives in Plano, TX, was said to be in stable condition after surgery. She is the editor of LoLo Magazine, which focuses on fashion and lifestyle features.
