AvConnect Expands Its Cloud-Based Services With Cessna Connect

New Cloud-Based Aircraft Maintenance Tracking System

AvConnect announced Tuesday it is 'the cloud' behind Cessna's cutting edge online and mobile package for owners. "The cloud is basically taking the place of buying and installing software. There are a lot of companies talking about it, but we have been doing it successfully and more importantly, specifically, for general aviation since 2006", said Erik Murrey, CEO of AvConnect. "Working alongside Cessna to offer its customers a one-of-a-kind program is truly ground-breaking. It says a lot about our technology and the trust they have put in us."

AvConnect's technology specializes in online record-keeping and secure delivery of vital pilot and aircraft data to and from pilots and owners to service centers, OEMs or even between partner owners. With the development of Cessna Connect, an OEM is now offering for the first time a complete online package that supports not only the technical side of record-keeping, but the fun factor of flying.

Erik Murrey added, "Cessna Connect is a perfect example of how cloud-based services benefit aircraft owners. Cessna owners have one login that gives them access to their records, interaction with other pilots, cool stuff like 3-D flight tracks and photos, and at the same time keeps them connected to Cessna or their Service Facility for maintenance or aircraft issues. The important factor is their information is accessible from anywhere, and it is secure and permanent in the cloud. It's a higher level of customer service that Cessna is offering, and we're proud to be a part of it."

Cessna Connect is only available through Cessna Aircraft Company and is initially available for piston aircraft owners. Highlighted features include:

  • Comprehensive aircraft status and pilot currency dashboard
  • Social hot spot with flight stats, friendly competition, and your Cessna Circle of Friends
  • Direct connection to Cessna Product Support and your Cessna Authorized Service Facility
  • iPhone and iPad applications for online and offline use
  • Archive and analysis for your Garmin equipped MFD data logs
  • Maintenance tracking, schedule, and reminders
  • Logbook, hours, currencies, and expiration warnings
  • AD and Service Bulletin notification
  • Google Earth 3D flight paths
  • FAA flight plan and flight track live feed and archive

AvConnect's CEO Erik Murrey highlights the importance and direction of 'the cloud' for general aviation, and shares his expertise on the company's blog.
