AvMap Ultra EFIS Worldwide Preview At EAA AirVenture 2013

Developed With UAV Navigation, The Avmap Ultra Is A Compact EFIS Providing Reliable And Advanced ADAHRS

Italian GPS manufacturer AvMap will preview its Ultra EFIS, a stand alone unit providing Air data, Attitude, Heading and Altitude Reference for your flight, at AirVenture next week.

The AvMap Ultra EFIS is a stand alone device with a 3.5” ultra bright, Sunlight Readable LCD display. The unit is compact (only 1.95” installing depth) and weighs only 5.1 oz. It will fit in a standard 3.3-inch panel hole, which the company says makes it easy to install and connect to the GPS receiver (included) and to the aircraft Pitot-static system to provide reliable and advanced ADAHRS.

Designed for light-sport, ultra light and experimental aircraft, the EFIS contains solid-state gyros, accelerometers, magnetic field sensors, air data sensors and UAV Navigation motion processor, the outcome of more than 8 years of motion and flight control experience at UAV navigation (uavnavigation.com)

The Ultra EFIS 3.5” PFD screen displays:

  • Attitude (roll, pitch and heading)
  • Airspeed from Pitot-static system
  • Altitude from Pitot-static system
  • Wind
  • Side Slip
  • Vertical Speed

"ULTRA is now the most compact, reliable and complete Primary Flight Display of its type in the world," said Guillermo Parodi, CEO at UAV Navigation. "We are delighted to continue to work with AvMap to produce such leading edge aviation products. We're looking forward to putting it through its paces at the Worldwide Air Race Championships."

“AvMap products range is extending beyond navigation to include more and more avionic tools with the objective to provide a complete AvMap Glass Cockpit system. To this purpose we are selecting the best partners in the market to work with, such as UAV Navigation," said Simone Lazzarini, CEO at AvMap.

AvMap Ultra EFIS is the second product developed in collaboration with UAV Navigation, after the A2 ADAHRS module launched this April. AvMap now offers the ability to choose either a stand-alond or EKP V-integreated EFIS solution.

The Ultra EFIS will be on sale starting this Fall at $1,200, while the complete AvMap EFIS set (EKP V + Cockpit Docking Station + A2 ADAHRS) retails at $2,750
