Teenager Attempts To Steal King Air In Fresno, CA

Ran The Aircraft Through A Fence And Into A Building

A 17-year-old girl allegedly hopped the fence at Fresno Yosemite International Airport in California last Wednesday and gained access to a Beechcraft King Air 200 airplane.

More surprisingly, she reportedly managed to get one engine started, and then ran the airplane through a fence before impacting a building, according to a report from NBC News.

Airport Police Chief Drew Bessinger said at a brief news conference that no one was injured in the incident. The teenager, who was not identified, was found in the pilot's seat of the King Air wearing a headset. She was not cooperative with authorities and seemed disoriented.

Bessinger said the girl will be charged with theft of an aircraft. It's not known why the girl tried to take the plane, or how she knew how to start the engine.
