Arca Space Corp Set To Introduce New Electric UAV

AirStrato Designed For Civilian Market With 100 Pound Payload Capacity

Arca Space Corporation is will unveil details and pricing of a new electric UAV later this month.

Called AirStrato, the UAV is designed to carry a 100 pound payload. The company said in a news release that it will fill a gap "between expensive, large military unmanned aerial vehicles and less expensive, small-scale civilian commercial drones by combining the performance of the former with the price of the latter. This will allow small-scale businesses, research institutions and even individuals to benefit from an affordable, high performance aerial robot."

AirStarto is designed to fly at altitudes up to 60,000 feet, according to the company. It has global navigation capabilities and can reach any place on Earth flying at altitudes nearly twice as high as commercial airliners. Arca says the aircraft can takeoff and land from any location, no matter how remote; is easy to fly; and is affordable.

The complete details and prices will be revealed on November 25th, 2014, according to the release.
