Classic, Vintage Homebuilts to Reach 50th, 60th Anniversaries

This year's EAA AirVenture will see the celebration of a few popular and historic kitplane designs - and owners are invited to come celebrate in Oshkosh, Wisconsin! The 69th annual fly-in will be the year's largest gathering of amateur-built aircraft in the world, bringing around 10,000 planes from around the world to gather with every part of the industry, from fellow pilots and owners to the designers and manufacturers themselves.

The EAA celebrates the most recent update to the FAA's new airport design standards, specifically a "long-awaited acknowledgment to allow turf operations on unpaved runway safety areas. For those pilots running a specially-configured aircraft using low-pressure tundra tires, ultralights, gliders, or vintage tailwheel aircraft, the long, unused, and perfectly functional grass strips are just the ticket for safer, most consistent operation.

Elixir Aircraft has slowly been making its way into the European GA market, sealing deals here and there as they increase production and build up the brand. Their recent deals included a sale of 2 brand new CS-23 Elixirs to Aero-Club Brocard, a volunteer organization that found the plane the perfect addition to their fleet. The Elixir represents a rare deal for the Parisian club, being a domestic aircraft made in France, not too far away from their home base in La Rochelle.
