ASA Announces 6th Edition of Intro Pilot Training Book

Updated Version of The Pilot's Manual: Ground School Ships for PPL and CPL Students this September

ASA announced the publication of the updated version of The Pilot's Manual: Ground School with the 6th edition of the longstanding text. Aviation Supplies & Academics - or, the winged ASA logo, as most would be familiar with - released an improved version of the book for all pilot training curricula, with particular attention paid to its suitability for use within the company's Part 141 Private Pilot Kit. This edition includes all the required know-how tested in the course of a private and commercial  pilot certificate.

While at EAA AirVenture 2015, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, checked in on the world of kit-built helicopters by visiting with Raul Oreste, the Chief Commercial Officer for Cicare SA Helicopters. Cicare helicopters is located in Argentina but they are now setting up operations in the United States. Oreste tells us that their company now has four models of helicopters on the market. After A “Small Bump” The Airplane Had A Total Loss Of Engine Power

On August 18, 2022, about 0852 central daylight time, a Beech F33A airplane, N17747, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR), Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The pilot and the pilot-rated passenger were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Aero-News: Quote of the Day (09.01.22)

"...teams were not able to chill down the four RS-25 engines to approximately minus 420 degrees F, with engine 3 showing higher temperatures than the other engines. Teams also saw a hydrogen leak on a component of the tail service mast umbilical quick disconnect, called the purge can, and managed the leak by manually adjusting propellant flow rates."
