Gene “Bever” Borne has been announced as one of 5 upcoming inductees of the EAA Ultralights Hall of Fame this November. Once inducted, Borne will take his place in the annals of Ultralight history among similarly esteemed aviators. The EAA has been announcing the new additions to the Hall in the weeks leading up to their recognition, allowing each member to receive the requisite attention due given all they've done for the organization's mission.

Volunteer Racks up Nearly 330,000 in Charitable Miles Transporting Those in Need

PALS SkyHope today announced that founder and President Joe Howley has hit the 1,000-flight milestone with the organization, marking 12 years of volunteering his aviation services for those in need. Howlye’s group includes nearly 500 general aviation pilots who volunteer their time, talents, and most importantly - their aircraft - to transport patients and veterans to medical treatments, retreats, and humanitarian missions.

NTSB Prelim: Piper PA-28-140

The Ground Visibility Was Low Due To Thick Fog At The Time Of The Accident

On September 22, 2022, about 1439 Pacific daylight time, a Piper PA-28-140, N7063R, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Sisters, Oregon. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot used an online flight planning tool for his enroute and destination performance planning. Data retrieved from the online tool showed that the pilot had planned to depart a private strip in Llano, California about 0700 and then fly a succession of waypoints and fuel stops while enroute to his final destination of Curtis, Washington (0WA2).
