Cessna Delivers 3,000th Caravan

Textron Aviation—the general aviation business unit of the Textron conglomerate and purveyor of Beechcraft, Cessna, and (formerly) Hawker Aircraft—has announced the delivery of the three-thousandth Cessna Caravan. The milestone aircraft, a Grand Caravan EX, was purchased by Azula Conecto, a subsidiary of São Paulo-based Brazilian air-carrier Azul Airlines. The sale speaks to the popularity of Cessna’s 208 platform, and further solidifies the design’s well-earned reputation for robustness, reliability, ease of operation, serviceability, and profit-earning potential.

Virgin Galactic Holdings, Inc., the aerospace and space travel concern founded in 2004 by billionaire businessman Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson, has announced an updated leadership structure by which the company intends to further its ambition of commencing commercial spaceline operations by the second quarter of 2023. Aero Linx: The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum, bearing the name of pioneer aviator and Hammondsport’s favorite son, is located on State Route 54, one half mile south of the village of Hammondsport, New York. Dedicated to the memory of Glenn Hammond Curtiss, the museum contains a priceless collection relating to early aviation and regional history. The museum also features a 75-seat theater, large open area for special events and a museum store. In addition to seeing the museum displays and exhibits, visitors are welcome to visit the Restoration Shop, talk with volunteer craftsman and watch them work on historic aircraft.
