MD Helicopters Celebrates Alongside The Company, Showing Their Continued Support

MD Helicopters congratulates Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance on its expansion at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky. Thoroughbred is the largest aircraft maintenance provider in Kentucky, and they just opened a new 20,000 square-foot facility, which will be committed to expanding helicopter and fixed-wing maintenance. Attending the event were Rocky Adkins, Senior Advisor to Governor Beshear, the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, and MD Helicopters Director of Customer Support Eric Kessler who presented Thoroughbred Aviation with a plaque.

Future Rotorcraft UAS Opportunities In The Works

Leonardo and Northrop Grumman inform the community of their intention to partner for opportunities in the Vertical Take-Off and Landing Uncrewed Aerial Systems markets. According to the companies, collaboration is being considered for air vehicle design, system architectures, payload optimisation and integration within next generation battlespace architectures, with a focus on customer requirements and mission-based Concepts of Operations. This will mark the latest development in the long-term partnership between Northrop Grumman and Leonardo, which dates back to 1995.

AD 2021-20-02 Requires Determining The Total Hours Time-In-Service Of Certain Part-Numbered Main Rotor Grip Assemblies

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bell Textron Inc. (type certificate previously held by Bell Helicopter Textron Inc.) Model 205B helicopters. This AD was prompted by a notification of certain parts needing a life limit. This AD requires determining the total hours time-in-service (TIS) of certain part-numbered main rotor grip assemblies (grip assemblies), establishing a life limit for certain part-numbered grip assemblies, removing from service any grip assembly that has reached or exceeded its retirement life, creating a component history card, and removing any grip assembly from service before r
