Pilot Tested Positive For Drugs In His System

At the end of June, a hot air balloon ride killed five people when it struck a powerline before crashing into a busy street. The National Transportation Safety Board has not ruled what caused the crash, but the Federal Aviation Administration has recently released information that shows that the pilot, Nicholas Meleski, had marijuana and cocaine in his system at the time of the crash that killed him and all four of his passengers. The family of the passengers has filed a lawsuit against the estate of the deceased pilot and the companies that operated the commercial balloon company. Eve Urban Air Mobility Bristow Group announced a Memorandum of Understanding to work together to develop an Air Operator’s Certificate for Eve’s electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The alliance will mature an Urban Air Mobility operating model using Bristow’s expertise in transporting passengers and cargo internationally. Bristow has placed an order for up to 100 eVTOLs with deliveries anticipated to begin in 2026. Incidents That Caused Long Delays, Violated Passengers Right To Deplane

United Airlines has been fined $1.9 million for over 25 flights where the plane sat on the ground for several hours, which is the largest fine imposed by the government for such long delays. The Transportation Department said that due to events which occurred between December 2015 and February 2021, more than 3,200 passengers were confined without being given a chance to exit the plane. United said most of the delays were caused by severe weather, when the airline is concentrating on making sure that planes land safely. According to the airline, they said it was a small number of the nearly 8 million operated by United and its United Express affiliates over the five-year span

As The Tailwheel Touched Down, The Airplane Veered To The Right

On September 8, 2021, about 1130 Pacific daylight time, a Cessna A185F, N185BB, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Arlington, Washington. The flight instructor, pilot rated student and passenger were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional. The flight instructor of a tailwheel airplane reported that, after the pilot rated student performed several landings, he assumed control of the airplane to demonstrate a wheel landing. During the landing roll to runway 16, as the tailwheel touched down, the airplane veered to the right.
