MD Helicopters introduced a new concept aircraft at Heli-EXPO 2017, in Dallas, that the company says will fill a number of gaps in the helicopter market. Craig Kitchen, Chief Commercial Officer for MD Helicopters, told ANN CEO and Editor in Chief Jim Campbell that the missions for the MD6XX helicopter will range from a top level gunship platform that offers speed and endurance to an EMS aircraft.

FAA, Korea to Cooperate on AAM Certification, Operations

Will Promote The Safety Oversight Of AAM, Including Airworthiness, Licensing, And Operations

New technologies are encouraging a number of organizations to reach out and partner up... The FAA and the Korea Office of Civil Aviation (KOCA) agreed to partner on future Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft development and operations. The agencies signed a Declaration of Cooperation under which they will collaborate on AAM projects and share ideas, information, skills, and techniques.

AD: Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG

AD 2022-26-05 Prompted By Reports Of Cracks On The HPT Stage 2 Intermediate Air Seal Attachment Bolts

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG (RRD) TAY 620-15 and TAY 650-15 model turbofan engines. This AD was prompted by reports of cracks on the high-pressure turbine (HPT) stage 2 intermediate air seal attachment bolts (attachment bolts). This AD requires repetitive inspections of the HPT stage 2 intermediate air seal and attachment bolts and, depending on the results of the inspections, replacement of attachment bolts and the HPT stage 1 and stage 2 rotor disks, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference.
