ANA Announces First Routes For Boeing 787 Dreamliner

First Regular Long-Haul Route To Be Haneda To Frankfort

Just days before the Friday certification announcement, ANA, the launch customer of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, announced the first international routes for the aircraft. The first Dreamliner is scheduled to be received late September, with the first regular long-haul international operation to be Haneda-Frankfurt, a new route to operate from January 2012. The aircraft will also be used on the Haneda-Beijing route from December, marking the aircraft’s first regular international service.

Fines Imposed Over Problems Alleged In Drug and Alcohol Testing

The FAA is proposing a civil penalty of $262,000 against Ameriflight, LLC, of Burbank, Calif., for allegedly violating Department of Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing programs and provisions of the company's FAA-approved Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program. The FAA alleges Ameriflight conducted the Department of Transportation's required pre-employment drug tests, but did not wait to receive verified negative drug test results before hiring 14 people to perform safety-sensitive flight crew or maintenance duties. Airline To Introduce First 737 With Boeing Sky Interior

China Eastern Airlines Tuesday took delivery of its first Next-Generation 737-700 outfitted with both the High-Altitude/High-Temperature Airport Operations Feature Package and the new Boeing Sky Interior. China Eastern will operate the aircraft at the high altitude airports in western China. The airplane will be assigned to China Eastern Airlines Sichuan Co., Ltd. based in Chengdu.
