When the US Senate passed its version of the FAA Reauthorization
Bill, Senator Jim DeMint's (R-SC) S.3048 "Pilot's Professionalism
Assurance Act" ... which would have allowed the use of Cockpit
Voice Recorder data to be used for punitive action against pilots
... was not included as an amendment.

The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators
(SAFE) has submitted a detailed response to the FAA ANPRM entitled,
"New Pilot Certification Requirements for Air Carrier Operations".
Earlier this year, the FAA solicited input on proposals to enhance
air safety through improved pilot qualification and training
