A successful ground test of the second Ares five-segment
Development Motor (DM-2) was successfully carried out by NASA and
Alliant Techsystems Tuesday. The successful test is considered an
important step in the development of America's next generation of
launch vehicles.

The academic-industry team that has been selected to support a
new FAA Center of Excellence for Commercial Space Transportation
includes a company with a long history of supporting manned
spaceflights.
NASA's Commercial Reusable Suborbital Research Program (CRuSR)
has awarded a total of approximately $475,000 to Armadillo
Aerospace of Rockwall, TX and Masten Space Systems of Mojave,
CA.
