The last week in April promises to be an interesting one as
the National Transportation Safety Board holds a three-day forum on
the safety of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The forum will be
convened April 29-30 in the NTSB Board Room and Conference Center
in Washington. The forum will provide an opportunity for the Board
and interested parties to understand the safety implications
presented by the growing use of UAS in the National Airspace
System.
While we think Aero-TV is pretty cool, here is some
"competition" that we welcome. Since humans first flew in space,
nothing has captivated astronauts more than the view of home out
the window of their spacecraft. In honor of Earth Day, April 22,
NASA will make those views available to people here on Earth with
an event highlighting
imagery taken by astronauts and the science behind it.
