Embraer Recognizes Its Best Suppliers For 2007

ESC Theme Was "Maturity" In Operations

Embraer awarded its "Suppliers of the Year", in nine categories, during ceremonies held on Tuesday, November 27. The event occurred in conjunction with the Embraer Partners & Suppliers Conference (ESC 2007), November 26 and 27 in Atibaia, São Paulo.

The award is in recognition of the triumphs of Embraer’s suppliers, in terms of improving the quality and efficiency of the products and services they furnish, as well as the support provided to airline operators.

The new aspect of this edition was the creation of two new award categories: Interiors, which up to last year was a part of the Structures segment, and Programs Under Development, won by AirCell LLC and Meggitt (Dunlop Aerospace Braking Systems), respectively.

This year’s winners, in their respective categories, are:

  • Structure -- ENAER
  • Interior -- AirCell LLC
  • Electric & Electronics -- Aviation Communication and Surveillance Systems (ACSS)
  • Mechanical -- Ametek Aerospace
  • Raw Materials -- Hexcel Composites
  • Hardware -- ECS
  • Programs Under Development -- Meggitt/Dunlop Aerospace Braking Systems
  • Technical Support to Operations -- Rolls-Royce
  • Material Support to Operations -- Goodrich Power Systems

The conference, in its ninth edition, included presentations by Embraer executives involved in a variety of programs and activities, in both strategic and operational areas. The theme of ESC 2007 was "Maturity: Reliability, Performance and Customer Satisfaction."

Present at the award ceremonies were Embraer President and CEO Frederico Fleury Curado, and Republic Airways Executive Vice President and COO, Wayne Heller, who was invited by Embraer to speak at this year’s Conference.

"I believe that award events, like this one offered by Embraer, motivate suppliers even more," said Heller. "They work hard to achieve excellence with their products and in the supply chain, and they deserve recognition for those accomplishments. This is how Embraer is able to manufacture and deliver exceptional airplanes."
