Bell Helicopter Promotes Innovation At AHS Forum 69

Displaying 'Relentless' Wind Tunnel Simulator

Bell Helicopter will participate in the 69th annual AHS Forum and Technology Display held through May 23 at the Phoenix Convention Center. In addition to sponsorship, Bell Helicopter will have a strong presence at the conference with a pre-forum event, technical presentations, a Bell 525 Relentless wind tunnel simulator on display and participation from Bell Helicopter president and CEO John Garrison during the AHS Forum CEO Panel.

“At Bell, we strongly identify with the AHS Forum theme this year, ‘Advancing Vertical Flight Technology in Demanding Environments,’ because of our commitment to developing innovative solutions to help our customers succeed in their most demanding missions,” said Jeff Lowinger, Bell Helicopter executive vice president, Engineering and Commercial Programs. “We are excited to interact with other industry leaders and work together to promote growth and advancement in vertical flight.”

Pre-Forum events began May 20 and included a short course on rotorcraft and wind turbine modeling and simulation presented by Bell Helicopter engineer Mark Dreier. The Forum 69 program also includes technical presentations by Bell Helicopter engineers over various topics, including dynamics, operations, product support systems, structures and materials, acoustics, aircraft design and more. Attendees will get an up close look at the Bell 525 Relentless wind tunnel simulator featured during the Technology Display.

Bell Helicopter President and CEO, John Garrison answered questions and provided his perspective on the topic of advancing vertical flight technology in demanding environments during the CEO Panel on May 21. The panel was moderated by Andrew Drwiega, international bureau chief, Rotor and Wing magazine.
The AHS Annual Form is the world’s leading international conference on vertical flight technology.

The three day event includes 250 technical presentations on every discipline from Acoustics to Unmanned Systems. The Technology Display, running concurrent with the Forum, is the most extensive exposition of cutting edge vertical flight technologies in the world and also includes other technologies more broadly applicable to aerospace in general. Leading manufacturers, service providers, defense agencies, universities and research and development organizations will showcase the very latest in vertical flight technology. More than 1,300 attendees are expected to attend the event.
